Phillips Milk of Magnesia liquid contains magnesium hydroxide and is used to relieve: indigestion, excess acid and wind, heartburn, stomach discomfort.
Milk of Magnesia 200ml is an oral antacid and gentle laxative used to help relieve occasional constipation and symptoms of indigestion, heartburn and excess stomach acid.
The active ingredient, magnesium hydroxide, works in two ways:
- As a laxative, it draws water into the bowel, softening stools and helping to stimulate bowel movement
- As an antacid, it neutralises excess stomach acid to relieve discomfort associated with indigestion and heartburn
Milk of Magnesia is commonly recommended in pharmacy practice for short-term relief of constipation or acid-related digestive symptoms. It acts locally in the gut and is suitable for occasional use when dietary or lifestyle measures alone are insufficient.
