Evra transdermal contraceptive patch is a prescription-only combined hormonal contraceptive (CHC) used to prevent pregnancy. Each patch releases norelgestromin and ethinylestradiol through the skin over 7 days.
Evra works mainly by:
- preventing ovulation (release of an egg),
- thickening cervical mucus, and
- changing the lining of the womb.
Important: Evra does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
